Excerpt from Chapter 11

9.1.10

"John really had to go. He had been pacing in front of the bathroom for the last three minutes and it was getting silly. It was a blessing and a curse that no one was home. Deep inside he was scared to go in without anyone there. It'd be only him and whatever the hell he brought with him. Of course he could just run out the door and go outside, but he couldn't fool himself. He needed to go in there. He needed to feel it again. John quickly stepped through the doorway and closed the door behind him without looking back. He slid to the shower and frantically fumbled with the knobs until he got it scalding hot. The burn of the water on his forearm almost relieved him of his anxiety and tension, but ultimately forced him to retreat back. After releasing the last drop from his bladder, John didn't feel the usual wave of relief. The steam had fogged the giant mirror in front of his sink by this point and he knew it was coming. Before he could even reach the lever to flush, his arms exploded in density. John caught a glance of a dark green-black figure on the far right side of the mirror where it was not yet fogged. He could swear it was green and black...before he could really understand what he thought he saw, the rest of his limbs fattened and expanded from his bones. He couldn't hold himself up anymore. He quickly to slide down the wall and collapsed to the floor like a corpse. The hazy light flickered and blackened."
